Do A Little Work And Win A Lot

Conservatively speaking, I probably could fill  two notebooks with horseracing systems I wrote, most of which worked quite well.  And I'm certain many of you have done the same.  So the next time you hear someone say systems can't work you can disagree.  Systems that are constructed with sound ingredients  are a step in the right direction to many good days at the races.  And systems are definitely the approach for those lacking handicapping savy.   

At the conclusion of each day's races I post the Fox Powers race cards for your review under "free and past tracks".  at www.turfrace.net.  Use those races to research successful combinations of various Fox Powers categories.  You will find one that works, trust me.  Then stick with it day in and day out.  In doing so, keep in mind that no one, and I mean no one, wins at the races on every trip. And no system will spin off winning days every day.

As an example, let's assume that in reviewing the races for a single track, or for all currently running, you find that one of the three highest Fox Powers total speed horses is winning a great percentage of the races.  Next you find that of the top three highest speeds, the one with the highest class is winning the most.  Or it could be the horse with the most early speed, or consistency, etc.

If you favor class, I personally require it for my selection, and you find that one of the horses with the three highest class numbers are prevailing, you could develop a system using the three highest class horses as a basis in conjunction with two other categories.  And a system that would be exceptionally good would be based upon one of the three highest Fox Powers, choosing the horse with the highest speed, or the highest class, etc.

You may note that horses with a total speed figure of 40, or more, and a top three Fox Powers ranking, are winning at a high percentage.  Or you may discover that horses are winning that have the highest  combination of any of the two highest  speed, class or consistency figures. 

I could go on forever with systems that I know will work for consistency or for selecting large overlays.  There are unlimited combinations with which to experiment.  I put in countless hours to keep the numbers up for Turfrace members and for myself.  When there's no racing on Monday's and Tuesday's,  I'm working all day on numbers.

In life you get out of something what you put into it. So consider getting off that sofa, put the chips away and do a little work in the evenings or in your spare time.  Then you will start to win more and more often at the races.

MONEY MANAGEMENT

For money management, use this as an approach since money management is very important.  Wager 10% of your bankroll in each race that you have chosen to bet.  That will ensure that when you are losing the amount of your wagers are decreasing and when you are winning the amount of your wagers is increasing.  A very good rule of thumb for making your bankroll last the entire day at the races.

WIN MORE AND GAIN FLEXIBILITY

Consider this when betting daily doubles as I have found it to be true in many many instances. Primarily since hidden money is wagered in the doubles. 

Let's assume you are betting 4 $10 doubles, the 3 and 4 with the 5 and 7 in the second half.  That's a $40 bet in total. Instead bet $20 to win on the 3 horse and $20 on the 4 horse. If one wins, take the entire amount you won and bet half on the 5 and half on the 7, the two horses that you were going to use in the second half of the double. 

You'll be surprised how many times you will have collected more than you would have betting it in doubles.  In addition, you have the flexibility to put the money in your pocket if you decide you no longer like the 5 and 7 horses.  There's no withdrawl option with double tickets once you buy them and the first half is over.

GOING TO THE RACES

When going to the races be sure to follow this steadfast rule.  Don't eat at the races, don't drink alcohol at the races and don't take your wife or girlfriend to the races.  That's a 3 horse parlay and no one hits 3 horse parlays.  (Just kidding, a lttle humor for the road).
